Wolsten Studios is the part-time head of digital that small regulated firms don't have in-house. This page covers where we are, who does the work, why we're certified to three ISO standards, and what to ask before you commit to anyone.

- The work is mostly remote, over video calls and shared documents. On-site days are by arrangement.
- Published prices
- The AI Evidence Pack is £1,500 fixed. Embedded Head of Digital is from £4,000 a month, with a three-month minimum. Builds are from £7,500, each at a fixed price agreed in writing before work starts.
- Clear about the limits
- We're not a law firm or a certification body, so nothing we produce is legal advice or certification. If you don't need us, we'll tell you.

Dan Wolstenholme Managing Director
Dan is the person on your first call, the person who scopes the work and the person who does it. There are no hand-offs, and no account manager or junior consultant in between.
He's English, from Manchester. Before building software, he built and ran businesses in UK utilities and renewable energy. That background means he starts with how a firm runs and what it has to keep on record. The software comes after.
He now lives in Larnaca, where Wolsten Studios is based. Since August 2026 we've provided the embedded Head of Digital & Growth for a regulated law firm in Cyprus, and Dan is the person in that role.
Embedded work comes with a written update every week, so there's always a record of what was done and what comes next.

Our management systems are certified by Citation ISO Certification Limited to three standards: ISO 9001:2015 for quality, ISO 27001:2022 for information security and ISO 42001:2023 for AI management. The certified scope is the software we build for clients: “Provision of bespoke and custom-built software, including AI integration and systems globally”.
When you bring in an outside supplier, you need to be able to say how that supplier controls its work, handles your information and governs its use of AI. An audited system makes those questions easier to answer, and easier for you to check.
We went through the ISO 42001 audit ourselves before the certificate was issued in July 2026. That meant answering, about our own company, the kind of questions insurers and clients have started asking professional firms: how AI is used, what data goes into it, who checks the output and what policy covers it.
The certificates cover our own management systems. They aren't product certificates, and working with us doesn't make your firm compliant with anything. The numbers, scope, issuer and dates are published so you can check them.

Bringing in an outside person to run your firm's systems is a real commitment, and so is a build. These are the questions worth asking early. You should expect a direct answer to every one of them on the first call.
- Who will actually do the work, and is that the same person who scoped it?
- What's in scope, and what's explicitly excluded, in writing, before a price is fixed?
- What happens when something larger than expected turns up partway through?
- What do we own at the end: the code, the data, the accounts, the documentation?
- How is our information handled, and who else can see it?
- What happens if the one person we rely on is ill or on holiday?
Our answer to the last question
Everything runs in your firm's own accounts and is documented as it goes. The weekly written updates mean nothing lives only in Dan's head. Planned absences are agreed with you in advance.
